Norman Solis serves as a registered nurse first assistant for the Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, California, a health care provider with a mission to provide for community members a broad spectrum of high-quality health care services. In remaining focused on facilitating a specialized approach to patient care, Mr. Solis assists physicians with general and cardiac surgery procedures. Mr. Solis specializes in cardiac catheterization, a procedure that examines blood flow to the heart and tests how well the heart is pumping through the insertion of a thin plastic tube, or catheter, into an artery or vein in the arm or leg. Mr. Solis has also been recognized for demonstrating excellence in Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting—or EVH—an innovative procedure that allows surgeons to view the saphenous vein inside of the leg with the use of a video camera, and remove the vein with a nominal amount of stress to the leg. For his work, Mr. Solis was presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award for Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting by the Boston Scientific Corporation in 2007.

Mr. Solis understands the importance of making a difference in the lives of patients, and providing optimal nursing care. He has spent nearly three decades sharpening his skill set in the field, and he continues to learn and grow, supporting the cardiac health of patients by assisting and educating them. Mr. Solis is able to champion patients’ mission to gain full insight as to how they can protect and secure their health.
